EINLEITUNG In dem Seminar 'Mittelalterliche Farbsymbolik' konnte festgestellt werden, dass in dem Text 'dy heyling varb'1 (V.380-420) nicht, wie zun?chst angenommen, die Farben die Hauptrolle spielen, sondern, dass es sich hier um einen sogenannten Blason2 handelt, ein Gedicht zu Ehren von Christus3. Es hebt an mit einer Selbstdem?tigung des Dichters, m?ndet in eine Klage, geht ?ber in eine Lobrede, beschreibt dann das eigentliche Wappen und endet in einer F?rbitte. Thema dieser Arbeit ist nun die durch den christlichen Glauben gepr?gte Allegorie dieses Wappens und weiterer religi?ser Bilder und Wappendarstellungen. 'Vorl?ufer' dessen, was wir uns heute unter Wappen vorstellen, finden wir zum Beispiel schon im alten Rom, im bekannten Feldzeichen4, einer Lanze mit aufgesetzter Adlerikone. Noch ?lter sind allerdings die allegorischen Auslegungen der in solchen Signa verwendeten Bilder, deren Deutung sich im Laufe der Zeit wandelte oder erweiterte, besonders mit Anbruch des Christentums, als man begann, jene Bilder bei der Interpretation auf Christus zu beziehen. Man 'schuf' sogar Darstellungen, die eigens f?r die Verehrung Christi gedacht waren, wie die auch in der Arbeit vorgestellten Arma Christi oder das Herz Jesu. Die folgende Abhandlung konzentriert sich im ersten Teil auf die Wappenschilderung in der Dichtung 'dy heyling varb'. Hierbei wird zun?chst auf die Illustration der einzelnen Bestandteile, deren Ursprung und Deutung eingegangen. Daran schlie?t die Erl?uterung der Besonderheiten der in dem Text vorkommenden Farb- und Zahlensymbolik. Untersucht wird insgesamt der Bezug zu Christus und die dabei auftretenden Probleme hinsichtlich der Auslegung und eindeutigen Zuweisung. Im zweiten Teil besch?ftigen wir uns mit weiteren Allegorien, die sich durch den christlichen Glauben entwickelten und sich ihren Weg in die Wappenkunst bahnten. --------- 1 In: Wickede 1909, S. Boris Grigoriev (1886 ? 1939) was a famous Russian painter, graphic artist and writer. In the 1910’s he was considered to be one of the most highly-paid and impressive Russian portrait-painters. Later in the 1920’s while working in America he handled to keep this position. The artist painted many of portraits of almost all representatives of Russian intellectuals of those days, namely Chaliapin F.I., Dobuzhinskiy M.V., Roerich N.K., Klyuev N.A., Gorky M.M., Shestov L.I., Rozanov V.V., Brick L. and Kerensky A.F. Grigoriev also created the genre scenes of Paris, New York and Santiago, landscapes of Europe, North and South America. Grigoriev created illustrations for books of A.S. Pushkin, F.M. Dostoyevsky, M.E. Saltykov-Shedrin, I.S. Turgenev, M. Gorky, V. Kamnsky and S. Cherniy. His work was exhibited widely in Rome, London, Milan, Paris, Boston and New York.
